TEC MTCTE Certification
The Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Rules, 2017, provides that every telecom equipment must undergo mandatory testing and certification prior to sale, import of use in India. The testing needs to be carried out for conformance to Essential Requirements for the equipment, by Indian Accredited Labs designated by TEC and based upon their test reports, certificate shall be issued by TEC.
Certification process is brought to promote,
- That any telecom equipment does not degrade performance of existing network when connected.
- Safety of the end–users.
- To protect users and general public by ensuring that radio frequency emissions from equipment do not exceed prescribed standards.
- That telecom equipment complies with the relevant national and international regulatory standards and requirements.
Envitest Lab is proud to announce its designation as a TEC Designated Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) for Conformance and Interface testing under the ambit of MTCTE (Telecommunication Engineering Centre). As a Lab designated by TEC, in India, Envitest Lab is authorized to perform the conformance certification tests as prescribed in the Essential Requirements for various network equipment.
TEC (Telecommunication Engineering Centre) issues the final certificate based on the test reports generated by Envitest Lab. Our services ensure adherence to the Technical Requirements specified for different network equipment under the MTCTE framework. Envitest Laboratories – Revolutionizing Telecom Testing for Comprehensive Product Evaluation
Introduction
In the dynamic world of telecommunications, the quality, performance, and reliability of telecom products are mandatory requirements as per the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications has notified “Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Rules” in Gazette of India vide G.S.R. 1131(E) PART XI” on 5th September 2017 which prescribes for Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunication Equipment. Any telegraph which is used or capable of being used with any telegraph established, maintained or worked under the licence granted by the Central Government in accordance with the provisions of section 4 of the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), shall have to undergo prior mandatory testing and certification in respect of parameters as determined by the telegraph authority from time to time. Envitest Laboratories has significantly invested in the field of telecom testing, offering innovative and comprehensive testing facilities for a wide range of telecom interfaces. This case study delves into how Envitest Laboratories is reshaping the landscape of telecom testing by providing a suite of 535 different tests, precisely quantifying the performance and functionality of various telecom products.
Telecommunication Engineering Centre, New Delhi, under Department of Telecommunications (DoT), which, inter alia, is the Telegraph Authority for the purpose of Testing and Certification. The detailed procedure for Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunication Equipment (MTCTE) under these rules are notified separately. The testing is to be carried out by Indian Accredited labs and based upon their test reports, certificate shall be issued by TEC.
Surveillance of products under MTCTE is carried out by Licensed Service Area (LSA) field units of Department of Telecommunications. Envitest Lab is one such lab in India which carries out test and provides the solutions for the MTCTE. The telecom industry is characterized by rapid technological advancements and ever-increasing demands for high-performance products. Ensuring that telecom interfaces function seamlessly during the transmission and reception of data packets over telecom networks is a multifaceted challenge. Telecom products must meet strict quality and performance standards to guarantee their reliability in real-world applications.
